I'm Nez - also known as Nezs.art on Instagram & Youtube. I am a Malaysian freelance illustrator and Youtuber located in the capital area of Kelantan.
My early artwork was influenced by minimalist and flat design which I discovered through children's book illustrations. In recent years, I’ve become much more conscious and intentional about the evolution of my artistic style. It's fascinating to observe how I've developed multiple drawing styles that I can fluidly switch between, depending on the nature of the project or simply how I’m feeling at the time. On some days, I find joy in creating simplified, playful, and expressive cartoon characters that communicate emotions through minimal details. Other days, I’m captivated by the challenge of crafting intricate, semi-realistic illustrations that allow for more depth and storytelling. This ability to shift between styles keeps my work dynamic and allows me to explore a broad range of creative expressions.
I've always had a "secret" passion for video creation, something that's been quietly simmering alongside my illustration work. The idea of blending visuals with motion and sound has always fascinated me. It feels like a natural extension of my artistic expression, adding another dimension to the stories I want to tell. While I haven’t pursued it as much as my other creative outlets, the thought of exploring animation or video storytelling is something I always come back to. In this year of 2024, i'm starting to learn and produce short animated illustration videos focusing on topics like psychology and mental health.
